Sightseeings
Baku has many sites of interest. The Old City, Maiden Tower, and Shirvanshahs’ Palace communicate the spirit of the city’s past. The Flame Towers indicate the spirit of the city’s present day (modernity). The Seaside Boulevard is a great place to take a beautiful autumn or winter walk. Of the numerous world-class landmarks in the city, the Heydar Aliyev Center with its unusual architecture is one of the most frequently visited places.
Leisure
There are many things to do in terms of leisure. You can walk along the Seaside Boulevard, have a coffee or meal in cafes or restaurants, or there are historic cafes on Nizami Street. The restaurants in and around Fountain are also colorful and add a touch of style and something special to your trip when you sit down for a drink. The city and spa & fitness centres offer the stuff to unwind!
Food
Azerbaijani cuisine is known for its flavorful dishes, and visitors to Baku can sample pilaf, lots of kebabs, and dolma. There are traditional specialties such as qutab and piti that are must-try dishes. As far as desserts, you cannot go wrong with baklava and shekerbura. Restaurants in Baku serve both the national cuisine, as well as international options.
Shopping
There are great shopping opportunities in Baku. From the boutiques along Nizami Street to modern shopping centers like “Port Baku Mall” everyone will find stylish choices. You can find a variety of souvenir shops that sell handicrafts in the Old City, and from some local bazaars which sell items such as carpets, or national gifts. If you want to shop and want affluent international brands, they also exist on this shopping spectrum.
